DESCRIPTION
METHOD FOR APPLYING A TOPICAL USE SOLUTION AGAINST ALOPECIA.
Technology Sector
The present invention relates to a method for applying a topical use solution against alopecia. It is included in the field of health, in particular pharmaceutical and / or cosmetic for hair treatment.
Background of the invention
One of the situations faced by men and women, although to a different degree, is hair loss, that is, alopecia, a condition from which different groups have been determined based on their origin and / or manifestations. The most common is androgenetic alopecia that mostly affects men by the action of male hormones but the truth is that alopecia can be due to a multitude of causes, from genetic and inherited to infections, trauma or skin diseases.
In general, alopecia is caused by the degeneration of hair follicles that show a deficiency in their natural behavior due to various causes. Apart from those already mentioned and related to diseases, different studies have determined that the environment, aging, stress or poor diet with the consequent nutritional deficiency are also factors that cause an abnormal hair loss. The poor blood circulation is also related to the hair loss, considering that in that case the hair follicles are weakened by the low level of oxygen and therefore the hair is born weak and with little thickness, which determines its prompt fall.
To combat alopecia at the clinical and pharmacological level, we work mainly with two active ingredients, minoxidil and finasteride.
Minoxidil is a vasodilator so it helps to enlarge the blood vessels, allowing a better passage of blood. Apart from its effectiveness in the treatment of other diseases, minoxidil is used against alopecia, either as an oral treatment in the form of tablets, or as a topical solution, in concentrations of 5% or 2%

depending on whether it is intended for men or women. Due to its vasodilator properties, minoxidil tends to increase the volume of hair foKculos, providing a greater volume of oxygen, causing the fall of aged hair foKculos and favoring the appearance and growth of new and strengthened hair follicles. It has also been observed that it stimulates the opening of potassium channels and slows the passage of calcium directly to the cells, so that the hair follicles do not receive the signal that sends the calcium so that hair growth stops. The application of minoxidil in topical form is presented in blister format or in dosers by means of spray or syringe for its application in the affected area always in treatments of prolonged use in time since if it ceases, it causes the return to the alopecia situation original. Minoxidil should be applied in very controlled doses since it has side effects related to the heart muscle, among others.
For its part, finasteride is a non-hormonal steroid-derived antiandrogenic drug that is used in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and which has also been found to work as a dihydrotestosterone (DHT) inhibitor. which weakens the hair follicles until they finally die, which translates into alopecia. As a side effect, finasteride, taken as a tablet by mouth, can cause serious sexual problems.
There are, of course, numerous alternative and natural treatments to treat alopecia that insist on the need to stimulate bloody scalp irrigation to strengthen the roots of hair follicles. One of the most used techniques is hair massage, for example with essential oils mixed with coconut oil, almonds, olive, castor or rosemary.
Also it has resorted to the elaboration of pastes or masks that are applied on the scalp, for example with fenugreek or fenugreek, some seeds that contain estrogens and other substances similar to the female sex hormones that strengthen the hair follicles, improving the growth of the hair. Or onion juice, with antibacterial properties and high sulfur content. Beet is also recommended, which contains carbohydrates, protein, potassium, phosphorus, calcium and vitamins B and C, either consumed in juice or as paste applied to the scalp. For an intake in beverage format, the infusion of green tea, antioxidant, and beer is recommended, which in yeast format is also used as a culinary ingredient.

However, whatever the treatment applied, pharmacological or natural, and especially in lotions or pastes / masks, the scalp, even being an area receptive to the absorption of topical solutions, fails to absorb a significant amount of the treatment, which means that the results are hardly appreciable and / or lasting. In addition, in its application as a lotion, minoxidil comes in formulations that add excipients such as 96% ethanol, propylene glycol and purified water and has side effects such as itching, dryness, flaking, irritation or burning of the scalp, similar to those produced the alcoholic solution of finasteride.
The applicant understands that a solution to avoid such side effects would be to treat the scalp with a solution that increases its resistance to alcohol but does not block the absorption of hair lotions and keep it receptive to them. A viable and natural solution would be the tannins.
Tannins are an organic substance found in the bark of some trees such as oak, chestnut or cortex mimosa teniuflora, also known as Tepezcohuite, and inside various fruits. Tannins are soluble in water, insoluble in alcohol and of a bitter taste. Chemically they are secondary metabolites of plants, phenolic, not nitrogen. Due to their properties, the tannins react with the collagen proteins of the skin, joining them together and increasing resistance to rubbing and especially to chemical agents, solvents, natural degradation and pathogens, which makes them a very effective tanning element.
At the industrial property level there are many pharmaceutical patents that present formulations and compositions intended for the treatment of alopecia but the presence of tannins tends to be related to compositions intended for hair dye. For example, the KR20090006422 patent which presents an "oxidative hair dye composition to minimize damage to the hair and scalp due to an alkaline material and a dye and to improve the sensation of hair conditioning, which comprises a oxidation dye precursor; a coupler; sepia ink or a melanin component extracted from sepia ink; and persimmon tannin. ’’ For its part, the FR2666740 patent presents a formulation that makes it possible to produce “a biological complex to combat hair loss that can be synergistic with other vegetable tannin complexes. It consists of the dosage of the proteins, amino acids, glycosaminoglycans and provitamins of group B stabilized with a fatty acid polyester in a solution containing 23% by volume of alcohol

ethyl. The formulation of the invention is especially intended for the preparation of multiple uses treatments for cosmetic hair. "Patent FR2653996 refers to a" hair regenerating composition and an aqueous solution. The composition and the above solution comprise, in particular, boric acid, resorcinol, salicylic acid, tannin, lysol and phenol. ”Other patents, such as European patents 97112736.0 and 97943935.3 develop procedures for tanning skins in which tannins are included.
The applicant has no knowledge of any method that contemplates a treatment of the scalp against alopecia that includes the participation of tannins and a mixture of minoxidil and finasteride.
Object of the invention
The present invention relates to a method for applying a topical use solution against alopecia.
The method comprises a cycle that combines an application of a solution of tannins and an application of a mixture of the active ingredients of minoxidil and finasteride.
Minoxidil provides its capacity as a vasodilator, contributing to the best bleeding of hair follicles, while blocking calcium in the scalp cells, which means that hair follicles do not alter their development. For its part, finasteride acts with its inhibitory properties, blocking Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), so that the hair follicles are not affected and maintain their vitality. Given the above, it is obvious that the combination of both active ingredients significantly improves their effectiveness by strengthening hair follicles in different aspects. For its part, the application of a solution of tannins acts directly on the scalp, protecting it from the potential aggressiveness of the topical solutions of minoxidil and / or finasteride in which an alcoholic component participates in a high percentage and graduation that can to damage the scalp in long-term treatments such as those that act against alopecia.
The mixture of minoxidil and finasteride is presented in an alcohol solution of ethanol 96%, with the participation of minoxidil between 1% and 7% and finasteride between 0.2% and 0.7% by weight.

The solution of tannins is hydroalcoholic and comprises a percentage of between 50% and 80% by weight of aqueous extract with a concentration of between 10% and 25% of Tepezcohuite bark (Mimosa Teniuflora) and a percentage between 20% and 50% by weight of ethyl alcohol (ethanol) of 96%.
The dose of the mixture of minoxidil and finasteride is between 3 and 7 drops, administered by an applicator containing an absorbent element, for example cotton.
The dose of the tannin solution is between 3 and 10 drops, also administered by an applicator containing an absorbent element, for example cotton.
This applicator allows directly applying the indicated doses on the scalp, separating the hair to achieve a better impregnation of the tannin solution and a better absorption of the mixture of minoxidil and finasteride.
Exceeding the indicated dose of the mixture of minoxidil and finasteride can cause the evaporation of alcohol to be slow and act too long on the scalp, causing injuries such as scaling and sores.
The preferred dosage is an alternative application of the solution of tannins and the mixture of minoxidil and finasteride on the scalp every 12 hours.
The method cycle comprises a seven-day schedule with the following phases:
a) In the morning, by means of a superficial impregnation without friction of the scalp, apply the tanning tannin solution, repeating daily for six days.
b) At night, by very gentle impregnation and without rubbing the scalp, apply the alcohol solution of the mixture of minoxidil and finasteride in sufficient quantity to slightly wet the scalp, repeating daily for six days.
c) On the seventh day, proceed to gently wash the hair, without applying any solution.
d) On the eighth day, a new cycle begins.
The treatment according to this method is repeated continuously.
5 If in a couple of weeks there is no improvement in hair loss, it is understood that hair follicles do not respond to treatment as expected and it is preferable not to continue.
The growth of new hair is fast in the follicles with recent fall and longer 10 in those of old fall, it is even possible in the older ones that the follicles are dead and it is not possible to regenerate the hair.
Since the method that is claimed contemplates the use of topical lotions on the scalp, any side effect that can be noticed disappears with water washing, applying a clear rinse of the scalp and hair.
It is not considered necessary to make this description more extensive so that any person skilled in the art understands the scope of the invention and the advantages derived from this method. The terms in which this report has been written should always be taken in a broad and non-limiting sense.
